All Sewage Plants produce Sewage Sludge.
The Sewage Sludge has to go somewhere.
So Sewage Sludge is incinerated, or burned.
Does the incineration process ruin the surrounding Air Quality?
On-Island Sewage Sludge Ruins Our Quality of Life
Perhaps the Sewage Sludge will be incinerated on the site of the Coronado Golf Course Sewage Plant.
If so, then how bad will it smell? Hint: Very bad!
Will Homeowners on Glorietta Boulevard AND BEYOND smell Sewage Sludge in their houses?
Will Golfers smell it on the Golf Course?
Will Tennis Players smell it on the Tennis Courts?
Will Boat Owners and Kayak Renters smell it on Glorietta Bay?
Will Members smell it at the Coronado Yacht Club?
Will Coronado Shores Homeowners and Renters smell it on their balconies?
Will Swimmers smell it at the Coronado Municipal Pool?
Will Diners smell it at the Boat House Restaurant on Glorietta Bay?
Will Diners smell it on Orange Avenue at The Brigantine and Miguel’s? And McP’s Irish Pub & Grill? And Leroy’s Kitchen + Lounge? And Cafe 1134? Clayton’s Coffee Shop? And Clayton’s Mexican Take Out? And Villa Nueva Bakery? And MooTime ice cream shop? And Panera Bread? And Starbucks? And Tent City Restaurant across from Rotary Park?
Will Hotel Guests smell it at the Glorietta Bay and Hotel Del Coronado Resorts?
Will Brides, Grooms and their Wedding Guests smell it during their Marriage Ceremonies at the Coronado Recreation Center on the Bay?
Will Coronado Community Theater Goers, Actors and Actresses smell it during Dinner Theater on the Bay?
Will Visitors smell it at Spreckels Park during our Annual Flower Show?
Will Picnickers smell it during Summer Concerts in Spreckels Park?
Will Shoppers smell it in Von’s, Coronado Beachwear, Emerald City Surf shop, Treasures From the Heart, Charisma, Root 75, the New Retail Center planned for Orange & C Avenues, and many more Stores?
Will the smell of You-Know-What reign supreme over Coronado Island’s ‘Downtown’ Orange Avenue area, just as it did in the neighboring town of Imperial Beach, to ruin the livelihood of Hotel, Retail, and Restaurant Owners?
When the Hotel, Retail, and Restaurant Owners in Coronado suffer Lost Receipts from stinky Business Downturns, the Coronado Government Dunces will have fewer Sales, TOT, and other Taxes to grab grab grab away from Others.
Sewage Sludge Plunges our Quality of Life and Hikes our Cost of Living
So, hold on to your Wallets, Coronado Homeowners, Renters, Golfers, Swimmers, Tennis Players, and Others, because the Government Dunces will be coming after YOU with TAX HIKES, FEE HIKES, USER FEE HIKES, and many more Government Schemes to separate You from Your Money!
As a result, our High Cost of Living will go UP UP UP on Coronado Island as our Quality of Life goes DOWN DOWN DOWN because of the Golf Course Sewage Plant.
Obviously, we don’t call it the World’s Dumbest Government Boondoggle for nothing.
Off-Island Sewage Sludge Ruins Our Quality of Life
Perhaps the Sewage Sludge will be transferred off of the Golf Course for incineration elsewhere.
If so, then how many noisy, dirty, stinky diesel-powered Sewage Sludge trucks will drive onto and off of the Coronado Golf Course?
Every day?
Every week?
Every month?
Every year?
Year after year after year after year?
How disruptive will the noisy, dirty, stinky Sewage Sludge trucks be to our Island Traffic Flow?
Will they risk ruining the controversial Glorietta Boulevard Bike Path, which has been especially designated for Cyclists?
Will they cause further traffic delays near the Bridge, our notorious Traffic Choke Point, or Bottle Neck?
Will the additional Heavy Truck Use require additional expensive Coronado Road Maintenance?
Sewage Sludge Requires Coronado General Plan Amendment Vote on Expensive City-Wide Ballot Proposition
Goodness, this requires major changes to the Coronado General Plan, just for the Transportation (Traffic-Related) Components alone!
And don’t get us started on the Air Quality-Related Components of the Coronado General Plan that require major changes, too!
And remember, each of these changes to the Coronado General Plan require a city-wide Vote on a Ballot Proposition, which is expensive, time-consuming, and drama-filled.
Sewage Sludge Risks Coronado Property Values, Too
It appears obvious that plopping a Sewage Plant onto our Golf Course will absolutely force our Quality of Life DOWN DOWN DOWN and our Cost of Living UP UP UP on Coronado Island.
Will ruining our Quality of Life and increasing our Cost of Living also reduce the rate of increase of our Coronado Property Values over time?
If you don’t like the answers to one or more of the above questions, then you must Kiss the Golf Course Sewage Plant Goodbye!
